With the uncertainty of Camillus, are any of you going to use your Beckers or are you going to keep them as safe queens ?

i recently got a bk 7. stripped the powdercoat, ground off the thumb ramp and other misc areas and put it to use. Collecting is cool and all, but using is a hell of a lot more fun.

I recently bought one of each to put back and one of each to use. That includes some of the harder-to-finds like the BK-4 and the BK-5. All my users are getting the micarta scales.

Everything, that is, but the BK-10 (no user) and the BK-1 (no user, though I'll use my safe queen if I have to). Plenty of BK-2's for users though. A spare BK-9 as well.

I haven't used any of mine, mainly because I have others I am using. But, I am trying to find a knife maker/repair shop that will rework a BK9 into a different configuration. Or I should say, a complete rework.
The problem is, there are no such shops in my area.

What?!! You haven't chopped a zombie with your Magnum Camp? :D

Ouch!!! not using a Becker is like keeping a thoroughbred tied to a post. I use my BK1 all the time, I even introduced it to a roosters neck or two;) . My BK2 has a few mile on it too.

I want a BK6 to mount on my ATV, they make a great trail opener.

My definition of use: Not so subtly keep stupid people at bay. The most use any of my knives may get is the occasional twig chop or cut into a borrito. Other then that I wear them not really as self-defense but just to let people know I am not to be messed with.

Hopefully this BK7 of mine will actually get used at some point. I plan on doing some camping or hunting this spring or next fall.

I picture everyone here, me included, sitting on folding chairs in a circle in a room somewhere...

"Hi. My name is hikeeba, and I'm a Becker Knife and Tool knife user."

(Everyone else in unison) "Hi hikeeba."

I've never been much of a knife collector. Instead, I'm more of a knife accumulator and user. I'll keep using my Beckers.

I've gotten both of my brothers Beckers, and didn't tell them the tools are out of production. Both of them get used, heavily. I carry a tactool in the back of my SUV, and use it I would if necessary. I think the usefullness of these reasonably priced tools offset any future collectibility/increase in value.
Just one woman's opinion, Pam

I like the BK11 I've been EDCing so much, I bought two more just so I'd have some reasonable assurance of having one to carry and use for many, many years to come.

Just found my Brute user via an email exchange. So in the user category, I have:

BK-1 Brute
BK-2 Campanion (plain and serrated)
BK-3 Tac-Tool
BK-4 Machax
BK-5 Magnum Camp
BK-6 Patrol Machete/Bush Hog
BK-7 Combat Utility
BK-9 Combat Bowie (my personal favorite)
BK-11 Necker

No BK-10. Might pick one up at some point if I spy one cheap, but the BK-2 is a fine knife in that size range. Little more robust, in fact.

That is why I bought 5 bk9hh's and 5 bk7's now I have users, collectors, and some to sell for profit down the road.

It'll be a while. BK-5's are just starting to command prices. The BK-7 and BK-9 are good choices for resale later on though.

i was thinking 5 to 10 years down the road or even way longer. If I have to I can pass them to my kids and they can profit.

I have a BK-1 and BK-11 and I am using them both. Both knifes are too good to sit around doing nothing.

I just bought another BK-2 to pretty up for a user. Doubt mine will look as good as soup monger's (see pics), but I'm going to give it a go...

Here is some eye candy.

The knives in the picuters are not a comparison but a quick look at some very nice hardware. I just got the RAT knives in. I worked most of the afternoon and evening unpacking and loading them onto my website. I'm just breaking into the Ontario knife line so... this week I am offering all Blade Forums members a deal, 1 buck shipping for each Ontario knife purchased from today till 01-21-07. If you look and buy, email me your Blade Forum name and I will apply the shipping discount (US mebers only).

I will be testing these knives out over the weekend if the weather gets a little better.

Another comparison pic for that RTAKII. In terms of surface profile, it rivals the Busse Battle Mistresses, but it's a much slimmer blade.
