Beckers, To Use or Not To Use ?

I got the last BK1 around these parts. I also regularly chop off bird wings. I have also taken an axe sharpening file and cut the top 2 inches or so of the swedge, between the tip and hammer point, into a cutting edge also. I can fully understand having safe queen backups, but currently do not have that option. So I will use the hell out of this knife. I am used to the weight now and love this thing.;)

I carry a tactool in the back of my SUV, and use it I would if necessary. I think the usefullness of these reasonably priced tools offset any future collectibility/increase in value.

I'm glad I read this post, I recently told a woman (that had her purse stolen) "You should get one of these" as I lifted my BK1. You see she was worried about the thief coming back because he/she had the woman’s car and house keys. This is really bad because he/she (the thief) had all of woman’s ID too. She did not carry a hand gun or possess a PP permit. I said any woman (or man for that matter) caring a knife like this would not have very many predators to worry about. And you don’t need a permit to carry it.

Keep on carrying that BK3 pompano_pam!
 
I just used my trusty BK7 to prune the trees in my back yard the other day! I love the hell out of my Beckers and it would kill me to stop putting them to good use.
 
I went out and cleared some bushes with a BK-6 and then whacked on a fallen limb with a BK-4 just for the fun of it. :thumbup:

Found a reasonably priced BK-10, so now I have the following users:

BK-1
BK-2 (plain and serrated)
BK-3
BK-4
BK-5
BK-6
BK-7
BK-9
BK-10
BK-11

Micarta scales for all the users, though I need to get some longer bolts for the Brute and Machax.

Tom, did you ever grind any down successfully?
