Beckers wearing stainless!

I'm steeling your idea orca, darkening. Anyways, stainless is the way to go for hardware, IMO image.jpg

Tbaggin - it works, but you may have to re-darken them sooner or later. The dark surface sometimes will wear off, but the screws sit far enough down in the holes that they stay protected. If you darken the screws with the stove burner method, make sure you are using stainless steel screws only. DO NOT use zinc-plated screws (I thought I could) - heating up zinc like that can release nasty fumes. I learned this from a friend who works in a finishing shop.

I have a Sears/Craftsman 4-Way screwdriver in the front pouch of the sheath, it takes up no room at all. That way, if I don't have my Huntsman I have something with the knife that will work. You can use a small split stick as a makeshift handle if you need leverage. I don't use nylon lock-nuts as some others do, I use split washers. Standard slotted screws sit too far down inside the scale for the 4-Way to reach them, unless you use a washer or spacer to raise them a little.

I use SS on all of my BK's plus either Custom Grips or Micarta and once you do all of this the price of the knife seems to go out of site and hard to sell or trade as you have to much $$$ in the whole outfit.!!** So I just keep adding to them ~~ heck what is one more BK anyway.?? LOL

On top of all that if you figure custom kydex or leather sheaths then they really go up lol. I love being able to customize them though :D

I put stainless and lock nuts on mine. Very handy to be able to check the FAQ via smart phone while standing in the hardware store.

BK-15 upgraded yesterday with KaBar micarta and stainless steel bolts.

I'm assuming the fasteners on the ESEE Izula handles are also stainless.
