Aw man, this would be right up my alley... If I still lived in Oregon :(

Fern Ridge is great. I lived in Eugene for about 4 years and really liked it there. I'll be there in spirit.

Eeewww Fern Ditch? So many better places to go within 30 minutes of there...Eugene as a whole is a great place to live though. I love it here!
 
Ha! I meant the general area west of Fern Ridge out the 126 and Siuslaw National Forest.

so you're saying Becker East isn't the only place the phrase "yes, I have a gun; yes, it is loaded; and yes I will shoot you" might be heard at 2 AM on a Saturday night?
 
I would really love to make it to one of these, the 15 hour drive is a tough pill to swallow though.

Anybody in San Diego or north want to carpool?

Mostly a coincidence.
I have restocked the Scotch, and since grabbing that 9 last time I have most of the knives I want, so I just haven't been feeling the need to come here and harass people for information.

Actually, my family is in the process of moving in with my Father In Law, so I've been crazy busy, as well as just crazy, and I don't have easy access to a PC late at night like I'm used to - so I haven't been on the boards nearly as much lately.
As I told Julio, I'd love to go up this year but I just don't know if I can make it happen.

I just spent a week in the woods with 1 daughter and a small group. Due to the housing transition, I couldn't access my Beckers so in addition to my EDC Para2 I had to bring the RMD. :( It managed the tasks, though. ;) I did most of the wood/fire prep, as well as some food prep and a bunch of cooking. The organizer is a junior high math teacher and former marine - and has been leading these outdoor adventures for troubled kids for a few years. The kids on this one weren't particularly troubled, luckily.
Most were pretty impressed with the lights and knives I brought, and with the camp skills displayed. Bacon cheeseburgers were done just right, and a huge hit. So hopefully I didn't sully the Beckerhead name too much.
There was some speculation that I must have been a boy scout...
