Becoming acclimated.

… so from the decidedly new guy in the SAK arena, I would generally have to agree with the sentiments expressed here, regarding becoming aware of (and acclimated to) how little knife you actually “need” …
To be honest, I have not gotten to the point where just a Classic is enough knife for me, but I am one of those guys with big paws and about the smallest thing that works for me right now as a “sole carry” is something like a Cadet. (disclaimer: I do enjoy carrying a smaller knife as a second, or ‘kicker’, for occasions when that’s all that’s needed, and I love my mini champ).
In general, whether it be an SAK or a bone-handled traditional, right around 2-1/2” to 3” is my perfect blade length.
This, for me, equates to enough utility in a fairly efficient package. And it’s the size that feels right in my hand …
Even the modern folders I own are generally in the 3” to 3-3/4” range.
But, as I realize my preferences are evolving, all of the above is certainly subject to change.
And if the automobiles actually do rise up, I’m pretty sure I’ll have to reassess …
