Ever since I first saw the New BM line up this year I have wanted to compare both of these knives, I couldn't find any info really comparing these two knives and I couldn't figure out why (still can't). Anyway I did a little comparison.
I took some pics of the three knives I received from KnifeWorks and also the Fox Delta I just received today in a trade.
None of them are too big to carry in my front or back pocket (I only wear carhartt work pants) I have owned both the Onslaught and 6" Ti Lite before. Since I probably won't be able to carry a Pistol when I move to California in a July I decided a big folder is the next best thing. I also have a Camillus Cuda Maxx 5.5, but it is over at STRBYKW at the moment getting a new Ti clip.
Anyway, here's my first impressions of the BM knives, I've not used the knives only handled them for about an hour. The Onslaught feels like a larger knife. But upon close inspection the Bedlam and Onslaught appear to be exactly the same length when open. When closed the bedlam is about a 1/4" longer. The sharpened edge of the Onslaught appears to be maybe just shy of 1/16" longer than the Bedlam's. The Onslaught flicks open and closed easily with the axis lock. The bedlam flicks open easily but doesn't want to close at the flick of the wrist. My onslaught arrived with a tiny bit of side to side blade play which won't quite go away when I tighten the pivot, it may have more to do with the flex of the relatively thin, wide blade. I'm probably just nit picking. The bedlam has much thicker liners than the Onslaught, not that I am calling the liners on the Onslaught thin (they are as thick as the locking liner on the above pictured Fox delta) Saber grip on both knives is very secure. I like the closer finger grooves of the Bedlam better since the edge of the blade is closer to your fingers. The Onslaught feels like a bigger, wider, smoother, more comfortable AFCK grip, where you need to choke up on the blade. "reverse" grip on both knives also feels quite secure. I would not like to carve wood with either of these knives for any extended amount of time, But that is not what these knives are intended for anyway. The Onslaught has a huge pocket clip which I really like, the Bedlam has split pocket clip, which I don't care for. I won't complain too much because it has decent tension compared to other knives I EDC and it is a longer clip than many I have seen. I do wish that BM would have used a standard hole pattern on this clip so that users could more easily change clips.
Over all I think that I will prefer the Bedlam for it's more comfortable grip (I'm a big fan of big finger grooves)
Thanks for reading and I hope this answers some questions people have had.
