Bedside flash light

I'd suggest the Armytek Predator. Not the simplest to program... But it comes shipped pre-programmed. Then, when you realize how much fun it is, there are tons of functions to play with. And it's bloody bright!

Some strong contenders here as well

IMO
Simple - On/Off "Forward Clicky" tailcap button.
Battery - OK if it has rechargeable capability BUT use Non-rechargeable litium cells for just sitting in your drawer. Rechargeables like to be drained/recharged or they die.
Size - Not too Big/ Not too small (4-6" IMO) you want to be able to grab it and know what it is BUT not a 4 "D" cell Mag (fall over and knock you out.
Output - You don't blind MaMa when she is looking for her slippers BUT you want some output in case you need to see out a window.

I have this next to my bed also-

@birdhunter1220: Please let us know what you decide and if you need more ideas just make a short list of features and preferences the light must meet.

I am still looking. It is a whole new world to me. I always gravitate to the simple and proven. So far the Surefire fury P2X and Fenix tk35 are on my list. Both seem great. The Surefire is in the slight lead as it is USA made. As features I am looking for small (Bedside and does not interfere with my weapon,), bright (disorient the bad guy) and usable as a around the house and out door trips to the chicken coop. No more than $150.00, but I remember not long ago looking for a new knife and finding this spot. Back than I said no more that $100 for a knife, well 2 Hinderers, a Chris Reeve, Three sisters forge Beast and a Rockstead later her I am. As usual the more you research something the more questions you have. I am trying to keep it simple and not over load my decision. I do thank everyone for their help and I will let you know and show pictures when I make my buy.

I would also look at streamlight. they have very good lights for under your price range. Take a look at the ProTac 2L its only 180 lumens which is bright but not compared to most lights mentioned previously. I love mine. The ProTac HL has 600 lumens if you want more lighting ability. Good luck choosing!

"small"??? Both the lights you mentioned I would not call small. But they do show me you're looking for some higher output with the SF claiming 500 and the bold claim of the tk35 @ over 800 (with special cells, on a full-moon, with ambient air temperature, atop an Elephant, while sipping kool aid and listening to Bob Marley on a short-wave radio kind of conditions).
There's a whole world of lights out there, if you want a SF, it's not a bad way to go. Many buy SF and done.

solarforce with an xp-g or r-5 pill. can get the whole kit with a charger and an 18650 battery, or run it off of 123`s(surefire) for about $50.00.
they are well built and customizeable.

The light I grabbed last night to check out the drunk driver in my yard wasn't my bedside Mag Charger, but the Brinkmann ArmorMax LED Tactical Lithium Flashlight (809-1025-2) that I got at a yard sale for a dollar. It lit him up just fine.

Just ordered a Fenix PD32 ultimate edition. It will be my everything light. Edc, bedside, walking the dogs. I prefer to get used to operating one light and the capability to have 740lm out of an edc'able light rocks.

The Olight M30 Triton is quite a versatile light that can utilize the 18650 Lithium ion (rechargeable) batteries. It has 2 buttons, one for mode, and one for on/off.

Currently a Surefire Fury. But, that will soon be reserved for bumps in the night. As soon as my E1b arrives, it's main duty will be checking on the kids, and all the other dimmer tasks. Both will sit next to one another on the nightstand. That is till I am vertical again.
