Beef with the Bk-2 Sheath (nylon loop)

I took the webbing off mine (silly retention strap broke day 1), ran some paracord through the holes and wear it horizontally in front. I can draw, resheath the knife one-handed (without looking like a doorknob humping ferret - well, nor more than usual anyway).

Works fine but I like the look of Moose's leather sheaths.

I went with the paracord loops as well, and made them adjustable with a cord lock. It works great in the cross draw position in front, and it doesn't get in the way at all. I barely noticed it when I was hiking with it there.

However, I like the looks of Moose's sheaths, too. Especially the horizontal ones...

Man, I thought you found somwhere that sells sheaths and steaks. I was excited for a moment. Liar. :D

Just kidding. A leather drop down would be alright, but alot depends on the oz of the leather. I use 10-11oz shoulder cuts for my sheaths, and the stuff is pretty thick, with my sealer (bee's wax and lanolin), it gets pretty stiff.

I am a little confused, so help me out, it takes 2 hands to unsheath it, or resheath it. Mine, it takes 2 hands to unsheath, unless I want to look like a ferret humping a doorknob. I can resheath one handed fine.

The first thing I done when I got my new GEN2 BK2 is to cut the sheath apart and finds out why it keeps dulling my knife, and second thing, was to make me a HD leather sheath for it. I sell sheaths, so I had someone offer me more money than I could pass up this weekend, so I sold my M1. Now, I'm back to the factory sheath until I build a new one.

I am actually (gawd help me) thinking of buying a Spec Ops Combat Master or the ESEE molle back 5 and pouch (gawd, I hope Jeff doesn't check this forum) to work with my factory kydex body. Either way, by next weekend, my baby will be sporting some new clothes.

Best of luck to you.

The BK-2 works perfectly with the Combat Master. I'm using the sheath currently for my Fehrman Last Chance, because I do the cross draw thing when I'm using the BK-2. I really like the sheath, though. It's got very solid quality and the split loop thing is very functional (and you can get it off of your belt without removing your belt). You can also adjust the retention strap to fit your knife. Someone was thinking when they designed this thing.

Can you not remove the knife one handed using the thumb ramp on the sheath to push off? I love the bk2 sheath design, and was looking forward to it. I like my knives to ride a little lower, and the tip of the handle at belt level is pretty much ideal for me.

On the new sheath, you can do that without a problem. I filed down the "jimping" on the thumb ramp, because it had a tendency to pinch my thumb when it separated as the knife was removed. The ease of one-handed removal is why I converted it to a cross-draw carry.

Thanks guys interesting other alternatives! Tek Lok sounds okay but like others have said it'll ride way to hide to the point I think when I'm traversing the terrain it'll poke the heck out of me! But I'm thinking of just getting a piece of kydex and making my own drop down loop. that is off set. But keep the replies coming loving this becker sub forum!

I have to nearly snatch it out of the sheath, but I like a lot of retention so I'm good with that. But I've never had one issue re-sheathing it.
