Im looking for a fairly beefy folder in a drop point or spear point, im open to pretty much every other style beyond say a sheepsfoot. I want an actual point on it. Assisted opening is a must have too

For size comparision, imagine a Kizer Sheepdog in any other blade style.

What am i looking for?

ZT 0562?

Any of the grayman knives or maybe a boker vox f3?

Not flippers but one handed opener and closers...

Are there even ASSISTED non-budget knives? Other than the High End Autos?

I will second the ZT 562cf. I don’t know if this is considered “budget,” but it wasn’t for me. It’s a solid flipper, ZT doesn’t make anything not beefy, and it slices. 3.5” blade, nice point. Probably the best ZT I’ve owned, but if you need larger both the 0909 and the 0804cf might be found on the exchange.

After some mulling: ZT0770 is the only higher end assisted opening knife I can think of. Has a point on it.
0562 - Non Assisted
Grayman - Non Assisted
Vox - Non Assisted

Benchmade Vector is AO and has a sharp point. Strong lockup and it's 8.9 " so it's big. A bit over 4 oz. with dual steel liners. Made to cut so it's not a thick blade (0.10). I like mine because it's auto like with instant opening, yet not an auto when I travel to places where autos are strictly prohibited.

I have one with me right now. Bought if off the exchange, received on monday... and I couldn't be happier. Pretty neat!

SADDLY it is not assisted. HOWEVER beeing a well constructed flipper AND riding on bearings, it opens just as fast as my only assited knife (Kershaw Leek).

Spyder K2 is a big boy. With a great big spyder hole there is no need for additional assisting hardware to muck up the works.

The 0562 was my initial thought. It lives up to the hype.

If assisted open of some sort is non-negotiable, andyou want beefy, check out Hogue knives.
