Been carrying an Endura 4 for 15 years. Help me pick a new EDC

Served you well forr 15 years! Dont be mislead by the collectors and steel nurds. The Delica or Endura is a fine knife. No bells and whistles. It cuts stuff and not too heavy.

Spyderco Gayle Bradley 2!!!!! Make sure to get the aftermarket Micarta scales, much better grip for me compared to the slick carbon fiber. You can pick one up here for $225 or so. Or the other Spyderco models mentioned earlier, PM2 is hard to beat as well. Yes, there have been improvements in steels over the years. VG-10 is easy to sharpen but loses its edge much faster than most any of the “newer” steels that have come into scene over the past 5-10 years.

I have many Benchmades and Spydercos, I’d sell almost all my Benchmades and keep almost all my Spydercos. Spyderco just does a better job all around, tighter lock ups, no blade play with Spyderco that I get with most of my Benchmades, Benchmade sends out dull knives compared to Spyderco. With all that said, the 940 is an outlier, is still a legendary edc pocket knife and should be considered.

Go look at the Endela in K390 and the Stretch XL in Cruwear
I was thinking this too. Some sort of Endela or stretch would make a lot of sense. I have the Stretch 2 xl and the military style blade is a nice change from the the Endura/delica/endela style.

Ive carried my Endura 4 in VG-10 all over the world, in deployments and courses. It still works the same as when I bought it new. I’m feeling the itch to pick up something new. I’d like to go a little smaller but not give up too much in blade length and get a premium steel.

So far I’ve been looking at the Para 2 in Cruwear and the Bugout in M390. Any thoughts on these two or is there anything else out there I’m missing?

Might try a Manix . Ball lock operates similar to the Axis but better design , IMO .

Sturdy , fast and fun !

Different UI experience than most Spyderco .

You deployed and did courses, I don't know if you are still in or not. Nevertheless, I wouldn't recommend K390, it cut very well, but not stainless and needs more care. I see too many people bring "carbon" steel knives for cool factor, then not really using them and let them rust all over.

I would recommend Elmax steel instead. It is a "premium" stainless, on the same level as M390, cut very well and more resistance to chipping than M390.
I don't know if you prefer opening knife with hole like spyderco or if stub is fine for you as well.
The Enzo Piili 85 from Finland might fit your criteria.
Acta Non Verba brand from Czech has some models with that steel and axis lock like Benchmade.
TOPS is made in USA with some models. There are more, I can't list them all.

Try the Spyderco Stretch 2 XL. Same handle size with a little bit extra blade length. Both are great knives.

Look into the Endela Cruwear. Light weight and a cutting machine. Takes a wicked edge and holds it. Very impressive knife and blade steel

Love my Pm2 in dlc cruwear with smooth black G10 handles! A KC exclusive iirc

Thank you for your service btw. I carried a tops badger my last deployment.

I think this post needs to go to spyderco ; they should give you the pick of the litter of anything they have for a deep discount for such dedication .
