Just got back from a 3 day fishing trip about 100 miles off Gloucester, Mass.. We went out after cod, pollock, haddock, wolfies, and the occasional Monk fish. I cane back with about 70 #s of good looking fish. We saw 100s of Minke whales, lots of large sharks. Thought I would post a couple of pics:

The knives that went. The SAK and CS neck knife got all the action. Check out the ziplock container with my Shuffle in it (great for PSK stuff):

Nice job! I love fishing pics.

Did you jig em all up were you using bate?

Any wolfs come up?

I never caught a wolffish?

Excellent pics bro:thumbup:

Coco - Yep, it was a great trip. Too much beer, cigars and fishing all-night long, heck I'd go back out tomorrow..

Rocky - I am doing a fish fry tonight, I can't wait...

Tony - We started with bait, but we all wound up using jigs for most of trip. We did catch a wolfie, I also caught a 18# Monk fish (damn they are ugly!).

Zman - Yep, I believe it was a 113.

Looks like a fantastik trip - charter? I love charter boat fishing. Never did it on the Ocean yet though.

I'm just fishing up week 1 of my 2 week field course and have been setting gill nets nightly in the Detroit River. Never getting skunked, but it has been a pretty paltry take this year - too many weeds. Monday we shift to Lake Erie and I'll be bringing out Jim Wade for the gill net check on Tues.

looks like it was a great trip, i bet you can't wait to get some of that fish in your mouth!

interesting what got used the most...did you use the CS for trimming line and things alot?

KGD - Yep, its a charter called Yankee Capts. I recommend them, what a great time. At 4:00 AM the Night Captain is out gaffing fish and serving cold beverages., great crew.

Siguy - I thought I would use the Mora a lot, but I wore swimming trunks the whole time, no belt. That serrated CS was great. The handle is easy to hold onto (important when you can't wash your hands..) and the SAK was in the front pocket. The knives weren't used for line, we were cutting twine and burlap bags constantly, also cutting hooks out of fish.

Rocky,

I hear the dinner bell Bro:

Great photos brother! Glad you had a great day on the water. Then again, what is the old saying? "A bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work?"

In this case, you had an awesome day! Nice work!

Great pics once again bro, looked a great trip !!!

I have looked at those little CS neckers before, they look a handy little tool !!!!!

Kevin,

Thank you! There is an Arab proverb "The gods do not subtract from a man's life, the hours spent fishing"

Pit,

Yep, those little CSs are good. That one has been fishing many, many times...

YUMMY! Beer and fish, match made in heaven. I'm moving near you just for the exposure to great times and good memories! LOL, I may need a job though...

Hey kgd, what is the mesh size of your gill nets and what fish species are you targeting?

Doc

Doc

Hi Doc - I don't want to detract too much from MM's thread, they are called FWIN nets designed for sampling different sizes of fish and include 25' panels of mesh ranging from 0.5" to 6" with a total length of 200'.

I also don't want to detract from MN's thread but your email is deactivated. Is the mesh size per side or stretched? If you'd rather email me, go to my profile.

Thanks,

Doc

Sorry mn (fellow Machax owner and user:D).

Doc/KGD - It's a fishing thread, bring it on. For me the idea of a new thread is create discussion about a topic, and fishing is an important one...

Rocky - Always a seat at the table for you and cold one in the fridge:thumbup:

Infobound - I missed your post, don't know the name of boat, but is run Yankee Capts.
