Been giving away my knife collection, feels GOOD!

Ever since I joined this forum, I have bought a Busse Hell Razor, 3 spydercos, 2 emersons, a case whittler in stag and 10 swiss army knives.


Well my wallet is alot thinner and the eve of my graduation (MAY 13) and commissioning is approaching, so I have started to give away my knives to fellow classmates who are leaving for OBC as well.

So far I have given a fisherman swiss army knife to my roommate.

A emerson min waved cqc-7b to my friend who is going to MP (Military Police) OBC.

A spyderco Endura to my other friend that is leaving for MI (military intel) OBC.

Athough its sweet buying knives and rotating them in EDC in BDUs, it feels even better to give knives to good friends that may someday REALLY REALLY need them. I made them give a coin back to me though, to ensure our friendship wouldnt be "cut.":thumbup:
 
Haha, seriously, he should have known how this thread would go.

I know what he means though. I gave a friend my Centofante III because he was talking about his job and how his current knife wasn't working good, and how he needed something with more blade and no finger choil to get in his way, so I gave it to him. Felt good, he loves it.
 
I just gave my Dad and Uncle a knife each, and am going to have a custom made for a friend of mine. Giving great people great tools feels very good.
 
My best friend has given me knife that is one of my favorite things I own. (He made me give a nickel for it) My wife has called it my nickel knife ever since.
 
two days ago i gave to a friend that left our company, a nice BM550..
He is going to change life and start a living as a fisherman...
I was quite happy to give him a knife that could help him in his new job...

I love knives and try to give them to everybody around.
One nice gift is the cheap Doukdouk... carbon blade that could shave you if properly sharpen..
 
I Have Enjoyed Giving Good Friends Knives. The Last One I Gave Away Was An Emerson Commander To A Co-worker Who Made The Swat Team. After He Saw The Emerson Booth At The Shot Show, He Had To Have One.
 
I just made a second one of these an gave it to a buddy.

The CLIPS are tough to find. Only ONE brand of ballpoint will work. Uni-Ball.
And the new ones aren't as easy to work as the old one I had in a can.

I agree. I gave away a Buck 110 to a Guy (on this forum) just before Christmas. He in turn was giving it to a Nephew as a gift. I felt good giving it up, and I hope a youngster will have a new appreciation for the most valuable tool invented so far IMO.
