Good to see you guys are still here HI seems to have the most caring and least amount of arguing area on the forum and a lot of the internet in general - is it just me or does it seem like there is more hate and anger every year, everywhere (maybe its just the cynical side of me that sees it)

The dog I want to find a home for is Sammy (short for Sammy the survivor) I have a hard time keeping him occupied I am disabled with my lower back and a few other things and it is hard to keep up with him. Maybe he will slow down he is still young. The county gave me a warning a year ago but haven't been back - here you are allowed two dogs per so many square feet of property. I am only off by 400 square feet ?

Sammy spent from a couple months old to 14 months tied to a tree, through thunderstorms and snow. so he is happy to be an inside dog but has to be walked on a leash till I get a 6 ft fence because he can get over the four ft'r.

I understand though if I was tied to a tree that long I would be a fence hopper too. The people who owned him yelled at him and called him "lil bast%$d". The kids threw balls at him not to him. The father would hit him with sticks. The lady next door seeing this kept telling them "if you don't want that dog why don't you let me find him a home". She was persistent and after awhile they said ok.

She had named him Sammy the survivor because of all she had seen him go through (IT IS TRULY SAD THE THINGS SOME PEOPLE DO TO DOGS (OR ANY ANIMAL) (or OTHER HUMANS)

The to me the saddest part of dogs being abused is their loyalty and love for their owner. They want to be loved and they love their owner so much they will keep trying to love the owner even after they are beaten so badly they can hardly walk they will still love and try to please the owner that did the beating. At least with people some will leave if it gets bad enough: but it never occurs to dogs to pick up and leave.

a friend of a friend told them I do volunteer work with rescues. So they were going bring him by for me to just look at and see what I thought we should do "only take ten min or so" that was a year ago LOL

white with large brown and black spots half beagle and half pit-bull (picture beagle face with pit-bull body)

didn't set out to say all that - guess I have been in the house to long - was just wanting to say thanks to you all for all the kind thoughts and words

Was that cool or what?? Surely a talented fellow!

As for people being mean to animals...yes...I realize I will never be able to imagine some things people do to their own kind...so why would
I expect such people to treat an animal humanely...why should I ever be surprised about animal cruelty...so, so sad...

Yes, HI is a wonderful little corner of the world. All are welcome here. Leave the prejudices and anger at the door please.
It's not just you, Bro, I'm seeing it too...all over. Greed, discourtesy, lack of compassion, prejudice, hate and anger....all the things I don't need or want in my life.

I wish I could take Sammy off your hands. Unfortunately with Beanapotamus and his back, I don't dare.

in my defense that was at the end of the day and I had been trying to do my first ever knife review and HI promo ?? -- was not planned or professional - for context these were filmed first

again thanks for the kind words - Moonw - Philll - Pugz75 - Bookie - Shavru and Gehazi -

Gehazi said "and on karda's point, we need a forum member to win the lottery , huzzah" I think people here would actually share it with each other too

Awesome sliding man! You should do "Star Spangled Banner" with that Farm knife:cool: Man If I could do a road trip about now id come pick up your pup. BeagleBull eh? I love Beagles and Pit bulls are probably one of my favorites. I like em all tho. Im down to two dogs now which is the least Ive ever had. I thought we were going to rescue a Pitbull Boxer mix a few weeks ago but the owner reappeared after over a year and came and picked her up two days before we were going to pick her up. Thats good tho. It means we can save another pup:thumbup:

Always good when we can save another one.

Sammy is a cool lil dog about 50 lbs but all muscle I don't think he would be good around other male dogs - he is small but wants to be in charge -- hahaha

thanks rwdata

they say "saving one dog wont change the world; but it will change the world for that dog"

I love the pooch in your avatar.

that's is Princess I drove from Alexandria VA to Mississippi to get her - she is the first pit-bull to ever leave the Vicksburg MS shelter alive. She was 37 pounds when I got her home we found out that she had 3 or 4 types of stomach worms and also heartworms. She had been used as a bait dog in a fighting ring.

She was able to win the hearts of the staff at the shelter which routinely and automatically euthanizes all pit-bulls. They gave her a chance to be adopted. In the first picture I saw you can see all her bones showing through her fur even her spine and hip bones.

she went form a year old and 37 pounds to 7 years and 85 pounds and not fat. Well she does have a lil pouch on her tummy but she deserves it.

Here she is a 60 pound lap dog

Have to say that picture of the "lap pooch" sure is precious. After all she has been through and to be that loving. What a testament to your patience and heart as well as her natural character.

Nothing in the world is a higher calling than those that care for abused and abandoned pets. And nothing is a lower critter than one who would abuse their trust like dog fighting.

Sending healing smoke and mojo up for you and your family and your furry family. What a wonderful bed full of happy pals. :)

Glad to hear from you Eric. This has been a long, cold stretch up here near Lake Erie. Our chihuahuas are the best heaters.

Had one once in dog-care, they are not as popular here but I loved her to bits, very good disposition and . She would sneak up your sleeve and park somewhere around your chest and catch a good sleep, it was hilarious. Being used with 80-100 pounds dogs having her around was quite a...logistic challenge.

The only question I have: how many of them, to warm up a foot? :)

Two will work just fine. Usually it's a neck and hip that do me in. We had larger pups too, when they passed my youngest had been in love with chi's for a while and they are wonderful.. They don't seem to know their size! The lady won't lift her tail in this sub zero weather, the lad however romps in sno drifts with the Keishund...

Yes, I love them when they are bold and don't have the little guy syndrome :D. (Sometimes, if not in most instances, it's the owners' fault.)

Two - gotcha, that means 4 for me and my wife. Taking notes here.

The lad sounds like a velcro one. Very cool, to keep the pace with a Keeshond...I was looking into them and Eurasiers at one time, but for now we have too many Malamutes around; usually, one of these guys is enough to warm two people :p. Only Malamutes we had, and my Argentine Dogo, best bitch ever (RIP).

(If I only had her now. But one usually gets the best dog when one is learning.)

Sometimes I get my mother-in-law's Beagle to join in the fun. American lines don't appeal that much to me aesthetically (no offense, my friends, but I prefer British dogs...British); the European ones are incredible, haven't seen one with bad temperament.
