In the last few days I have gotten in a lot of great shop time and have tons of grinding done! I just walked in the house but I will have some pics here or in the S7 thread tomorrow.

As a lot of you know I am a full time knifemaker and knifemaking is 100% of what supports my family. Luckily everybody is doing great here and I have been upgrading the shop a fair bit lately. I just got in a new dust collection system, it was getting bad in there! I also have a new granite surfacing plate and am making more upgrades towards better knives and ultimately a liner lock folder.

The liner lock is coming soon and I got in more design time today, I bet I have 100+ hours in the design alone. Thanks for the great feedback! Everything is coming along as planned but a bit slower than I want! I should have the prototype out very soon and then I will get into full production.

I also have more upcoming knives than I can speak of! Most are orders but I will have a few available as well. I have a new one coming up in Ti, check out my avatar for the design.

I will be going back home for Christmas this year. It will be the first time back home in a long time; eight years. I had to take advantage of the chance as I rarely get to see my family. This will delay the folder by a week but I'll be back fresh to work on it. :D

My shop inspection is nearly over with and all the work on my side is hopefully done! It is a big relief and was a big expense so I am glad to have it over with, I can also get in more shop time now with full concentration!

Right now I'm knocking out the orders and will continue to do so for a while but have big plans! The DFK Frame Lock is coming out soon and it is going to be a big part of Fairly knives for now on. I am getting all my gear for folders; it is costing me more than it cost to originally get set up for knifemaking but will be worth it forever! The WAR line is also coming with a few new designs and the rugged DFK style!

Thanks everyone for all the support and have a great week!

Sounds good Bro!

Good on ya for keeping your focus through everything this year! I'm super stoked about both the folder and the WAR line, I want one of each!

Great news Daniel!
Good to hear you have managed to pretty much finalize the shop.
Looking forward to what will come out from you in the future!
Best of luck!
Enjoy Christmas with your family!

Awesome Daniel. Good to hear things are going well. At this rate you'll have top take on an apprentice at least!

Have a good break. I think you deserve one

Thanks and great quote! I don't want to say a lot about the WAR line yet but I have some great designs that will be released sometime around the end of Winter if all goes as planned.

I am with Xander I can not wait to see the folder and the War line!!!!

Much appreciated! It has been a long time coming but I'm getting there!

It is a big relief to be so close! lol I can already tell I will probably add on next year. Thanks!

Merry Christmas as well!

Thanks, much appreciated!

Once I am fully set up with equipment I may hire an apprentice. I have big plans!

Im happy for you Sir.
Cant wait to see the folder.

Big thanks Cabra!

Once I get my mill for dead straight holes I should have a prototype. I plan on having tolerances of .0001 on holes for smooth action and straight blade alignment. I could do it or less but these are going to be mind blowing!

Daniel!!!
RockOn! ;)

Much appreciated Rolf! Thanks!

How about a picture of the rebuilt shop?...............carl

Will do! I'll get some by this evening. Thanks!

Two Massive Choppers! These were tough to grind and are getting close. I am really proud of both, they are probably the best big knife grinds I have done and they aren't even finished!

Check out the custom kiridashi too! It should be finished very soon as well and is 52100 steel.

Here is my finishing and all around work bench. I keep it simple and have a few things out right now...

The black block is a new granite surfacing block accurate to .0001" for precision flattening and checking for flatness. I can get everything good for fixed blades alrady but this will really help out with checking folder scales and lapping the ends of pivots and standoffs to perfection.

Machinists tools are out too... I'm excited about this stuff! Thanks guys for the tools, I have had a lot of help from a bunch of you and really appreciate it.

The dust collector has landed! Grinding room...

I'm halfways there with the dust collector. I thought the dryer tube I bought was metal but it blazed up the moment metal sparks hit it. I have it rigged up for now to at least do some air filtering of nearby dust but it needs a lot of work. Good stuff though, I can't wait to have it completely set up, it is awesome.

Ti in progress!

I'll have a few of these ready here soon! I'm finishing up he orders first but warm up every day rough grinding some Ti and the pile is now getting big!

Wild grind! Ti B O K #45 or so... the last of 5 for a while. I had to do a diferent grind on this one just for kicks.,

Massive trench is covered! I had my 100 amp line on the ground and had to bury it along with doing some other things in order to to pass electrical inspection. 100 yards of deep trench and the ground was frozen up to 2' deep in spots!

I took this a few minutes ago while leaving the shop. I like the new green paint, it really blends in with the trees.

Nice! Lovin that TiBOK grind! Can I have it?! :D

Your shop is way too clean, but I guess its a reflection of your dedication and focus! Mine is a jumbled mess and much too small, maybe that's why I make small knives and jump around with ideas so much :p!

You should make a small closet outside of your shop for the dust sucker, I've seen many small shops built that way, also with a compressor housed externally. Of course once your final inspection is done, then you can start cutting up the walls!

You should have dug up some root burls while the excavator is still there!

Thanks! For a while my shop was always a mess but now I do it chef style, clean as I go and it is working out well. It is either clean all the way or messy for me so this is good, lol.

You are right on about the collector/comressor and I have plans for an add on eventually. Good thinking! I'd like to build on a porch/closet areal soon.

Havok sighting! nice work mang.
Thanks! And thank you for the awesome design.

What's the toaster oven for?

Lots of toast! :p

OK just kidding I use it for kydex. I may use it eventually for powder coating small parts. I use a digitally controlled and warmed up kiln for tempering and heat treat.

Thanks! For a while my shop was always somewhat of a mess but now I am moved in and more organized.... I do it chef style, clean as I go and it is working out well. It is either clean all the way or messy for me so this is good, lol.
