Beer and Blades!

My father only occasionally smelt like elderberries.

My first rye IPA. Tastes like it's pretty well done, I don't really dislike it but I'm probably not going to be a big fan of this version of IPA. I like the stout from this brewery better.

Never seen the one out West. Where is it from?

I’ve yet to find a rye IPA that I’m particularly fond of.

TA is one of the newer (est. 2012) breweries in Nashville. They seem pretty low on the pecking order amongst the breweries there but I’m no authority on the subject, either. I like to think of the “Portly Stout” they make as my poor man’s Old Rasputin since it’s a suitable stand in when I can’t find OR locally.

I’m not the only one that likes it because it disappears off the cooler shelves at the local Kroger here. If you like a roasted malt focused stout, it’s pretty good, IMO. Probably not on par with what you have access to out west though.

This one had an earthy note to the flavor that was a little off putting. I’ve noticed a similar thing in vape juices I didn’t care for. They should have just made a regular old IPA. It probably would have been good.
