^ That label looks like pirate version of Duvel :D

Different brewery, but I believe they (and a few others) use the same bottles.

Piraat, in my opinion, is a fascinating beer. It's a Belgian abbey/trappist ale, so it has the sweetness and fruit hints that you'd expect, but it's also an IPA, so it has the hopps and bitterness. The sweetness and fruits hide the bitterness, unless you look for it. Refreshing and easy to drink, yet complex. And of course, the 10.5% ABV has its own medicinal benefits.

The Endura Wave also makes a great bottle opener.

I guess it knocks a few points off my man card but I've never cared for beer.

Give me a good scotch or bourbon anytime. Or port. Love me some port.

Wow. What a thread. A LOT of old favorites here...many good micros (shout outs to my forum friends posting good stuff from Three Floyds, New Glarus, Jolly Pumpkin, etc.), some Trappists (you Rocky guys be sure to give the "8" some love, as well as the "10"; love the ester-y goodness of the 8...) Wish I could contribute, but alas, Bill W. is my homie. If I was still a connoisseur of fine beer, I would have posted a photo of my all time favorite beer, with my prized Bailey Pocket Fixed Blade...sadly I must post these separately...

Great thread

I really like my IPAs and my knives, so when I get a chance, I will definitely throw up some photos of my favorite selections.

I was referring to the label that looks very similar in design, and that beer being piraat, would make "pirate" version of the beer.. Meh, poor joke perhaps. :P
