Before and After, A Tale of Two

Thanks for sharing these stories, Dave. You are a true master of your craft and a fine businessman as well. Not many places nowadays that would stand behind their product and go to such lengths to fix a customer’s problem.
I was intrigued by the mammoth solution...those handles came out looking great. Well done, sir!:thumbsup:

Both are great fixes, but I really like the mammoth repair. Wonderful work!

Nice work...I need to grab a fixed blade from you one of these days! Also to support a local Californian! I follow you on Instagram as well and catch myself eyeballing your blades all the time!

Thank you folks for all the kind words. They are truly appreciated!

Yeah that white camel bone might contrast better there than ironwood did hamsco! Easier to find.

Damn that boy's good! Those knives look new after your TLC. Outstanding work and a great idea to fix the mammoth handle. BTW, what's up with the CA legislature and the mammoth?

Thanks. The bill (AB 96, its googable that way) was suppose to help end elephant poaching in Africa. Reality its an enforcement tool as the courts were not accepting the common accepted differences between elephant ivory and mammoth. So in an elephant ivory smuggling case they were requiring very expensive DNA tests to verify each individual piece. Now after this bill took affect (July 1 2016) they don't have to prove whether its elephant or mammoth anymore. Somehow mammoth tooth got thrown in there too. Quien Sabe?

Wondrful thread, Dave. Your solution for the mammoth is nothing short of spectacular ! The other gives new meaning to "stick in the mud"...lol. What a find. Thanks for sharing !!
