Those worms in the horse weed galls make great ice fishing bait. I get mine out of goldenrod and ragweed galls. I have a bunch of the galls in my freezer now waiting for the ponds to freeze over here.--KV
 
Great pictures! Thanks for posting them. They gave me a few minutes away from the foot of snow we just got.

I've heard they make great fishing bait, so I harvested some the birds didn't eat for later use.

Thanks Mike, glad you enjoyed them. According to the farmer's almanac we are supposed to have more snow this year...not sure whether I hope we get a foot of it or not...
