Todd has been wanting to offer some basic machining classes geared specifically for knifemakers for quite some time. He has an extensive background in machining and spends quite a bit of time at shows answering questions and explaining how to better use one's mill and do simple to complex operations. He wants to be able to give back to the community in some way and help makers utilize their machine tools more effectively.
So, we are offering a weekend course Fri-Sun, of machining classes, the curriculum will be custom tailored to your needs, questions, and interests. This is NOT for beginner knife makers, it is NOT a "how to make knives" course.....but rather a very specific instruction on how to maximize the use of your mills, lathes, cnc's and machine tools. Fixture and jig building, work holding, cutter selection and use, speeds and feeds, accurate machine set up etc....are all things that will be covered.
These classes are meant for one on one instruction, however if two to three makers have the same interest, ie: integrals, folders fixtures, inlays etc...we will schedule a group class, but no more than three at a time.
If you are interested, please contact us for pricing and scheduling.
