I made the platen for my Clone grinder today. Just have to tap some holes. I do make more than just knife blanks you know. I'll post more pics as I progress.:D

My clone wont be near as sweet as yours!

you are lucky that you can cut 3/4" steel on your waterjet!

Thanks guys. I'm thinking of making grinder attachments for sale. I can do custom designed parts for replacement or a new machine. I will be making my own wheels. I'm ordering a 2" think aluminum plate, so I can cut them any diameter. What would you like to see? For my machine, I will be building a custom cart with lockable casters so I can roll it outside on nice days. I will make several different attachments to go with it along with the ability to run longer belts if needed. Any suggestions for parts that are needed?

Dave - with your jet, you can explore going after "Bader" clones. The main part there is the plate to which the face-mount motor attaches. The same plate is where the tooling arm and tracking wheel assy arm attach. It is a really compact design. It doesn't have the pulley assy like the KMG, so a VFD is almost a must.

And that "main" plate you get real fancy with :) on your jet .

ya to make me want another piece of machinery that i have not the room, cash, or time for.

~goes to put water jet on the list of toys to get in the next 20 years~

some guys just have too many toys at their disposal to do whatever they want or make whatever they want with! :)

I just get to play sometimes. Wish it costs as much as a toy! I figure I better learn how to make knives if I'm cutting so many parts for them. I can't fight it anymore. I'm becoming a knife nut!:D
