Behind the Scenes @ Fiddleback Forge 09/28/2016-??

What are the reddish sheets? The top one looks more uniform and like a solid red.

I'm liking all the different materials also, especially the blues.

Thanks for sharing and posting these up!

the top one is ruby burlap and the bottom one is tequila sunrise

mammoth tooth or something like that

it's walrus

"Paging...Joarthur"

I like what I see, Phillip. Thanks

Yes. I hope you do. That handle is HUGE! If it doesn't fit your hand I'm going to put a blade on the end of the barrell of a baseball bat and send it to you. LOL.

Are the burlap micarta scales made in house?

I think you're going to like the shadetree stuff Heespharm. They take a lot of care and spend a lot of $ on using the correct epoxy. Its good stuff from good folk.

Mammoth ivory! Wow! I don't stand a chance of getting on of those on FF

Those are actually fossilized walrus ivory.

What is that bar stock of, CPM or something more sinister?? I know the evil genius has something up his sleeve.

Damascus. I enjoyed working it last time.

More of that "twig stuff". Hey, whatever happened to that first twig scaled knife?

That one went to a great collector of Bushfingers.

I've been waiting for Andy to make a few knives with mammoth ivory. It looks like it's finally going to happen.
I hope it's a bush finger

Unfortunately due to new rules, I can't see any of them over state lines. They are going to go onto hidden tang one off knives basically designed to fit that piece of ivory. No idea if I'll even be able to sell them.

PLEASE support Knife Rights! They are fighting the fight.

Oh...but if you can sell them in state...I've been looking for an excuse to visit the shop!

Ya know...an excuse other than Phillip's magnetic personality, or Allen's supernatural ability to empty my bank account.

The new federal rule applies only to elephant ivory. New York, New Jersey, Washington, California, and Hawaii restrict walrus and fossil trade. However, without documentation, a conservative approach is best.

The great collector of Bushfingers should post up some pictures! I want to see what the final product looks like. :D

Great stuff. Several things of interest here for me. My Fiddleback purchases have been light in 2016, but there is still plenty of time left in the 4th qtr :)

Thanks, as always, for the peak inside Fiddleback HQ

Shoot, i was hoping that was Brisket. Looks dark for tequila sunrise. Interesting.

Trying to follow the thread here but I've had minimal coffee and too many IT issues in the air this morning. Is Phillip the Bushfinger collector or is that one in the making?

Andy, Thank you for coming up with the idea of making this knife. I feel privileged. The preview photo encourages me that it will serve as just the right blade to carry for a frequent use I have, which I'll show in pics when I post my review. For that post I'll also try to track down a friend who wears size 17 shoes and get some pics of the Big Mitt in his hands. Others in this subforum have hands bigger than mine, and I hope that they will also be interested in your 3- and 4-inch Big Mitts. Jim

I like your positive attitude. :)

I really dig your Osage Sylverfalcen Phillip, and that matching lanyard is perfect!:)

Thanks Gus
Allen did that for me. When I wear certain pants the lanyard hanging out the back pocket manages to keep the knife upright. In jeans it doesnt matter

that's brisket rub Jerry

this is fiesta

Oooooh Fiesta Why didn't you say so?

Just kidding, i was thinking of the naming discussion day and the comments with "Mariachi" and of course, hoping for Brisket.

I dig your Sylverfalcen also if you couldn't tell. That really has a classic look to it.
