rethinks wondering aloud if FF would consider clocking the [natural] micarta pins.... Y'know, for the up-close purty pitchas.

im not sure that one is going to gain any traction.![]()
I have found that all pins, especially phenolic, tend to rotate slightly as they are driven in. That would be a nightmare![]()
Oh hell, forget I even asked in that case. That would be a giant pain in the butt. Thanks for the reality/sanity check.![]()
I like their random orientation. Being slightly misaligned would annoy me much more than being randomly angled. Plus, the curves of the handles would create optical illusions of mis-fit on different models.
Like I tell my wife......I'm not obsessive compulsive, I just need everything to go exactly where it is supposed to be.![]()
I don't mind it too much and I prefer the natural pins a lot of the time. I can be pretty OCD about some things, but the alignment doesn't bother me.The mis-matched clocking of pins is much less noticeable with black pins. That is one of the many reasons I prefer black over natural for most knife purchases.
cubby's user name on here is " short straw", you can probably guess where that came from

More to come as time permits!
Thanks for looking.
Just want to say thanks for inspiring me to complete that bow saw project that I've had on the back burner for quite a while, unfortunately, it's a little smaller that I originally had in mind.

Maybe you could use it to buck your logs before you use the hatchet to split them?
Both of these photos make me want my G.I. Joe's ,with the kung fu grip, back again.![]()

Very cool Diorama! I love the still life.
They don't bother me either. To me they are just one of the few fingerprints that help identify a particular knife from another of the same handle configuration. I don't notice it unless I am looking for it.
Thanks,
Im working on a larger scale operation this weekend
Oooh-- complete withdollhouse"shelter"?

Nathan,
I opened this thread, saw the pic, and said out loud "Oh my God, I'm in so much trouble!".
Oh my God, I'm in so much trouble. And Allen knows it.
