Hello everyone,

The basic page by page plan for my next book "The World of ART KNIVES" is
complete, from page 1 to page 272!

I still have a great amount of work before me even though
most of the book has been completed. There are quite
a few knives yet to be finished and photographed and their
final illustrations created. There is also quite a lot of writing,
editing and polishing up to be done....

The book is planned to go to print in December 2009 and will be
introduced at next year's BLADE 2010 Show...

The book will display about 500 amazing custom knives,
with detailed captions including personal comments from many
of the makers.
There will be over 60 pages of introduction sections among which
will be in-depth fully illustrated profiles of several world-class
custom knifemakers and much more.

The second part of the book will be a printed exhibition of highlights
from 10 truly out-of-this-world collections.

As teasers here are two pages from the book.

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

First here are two Wolfgang Loerchners (my vocabulary is too
limited to describe them properly) from the wondrous Don Guild collection.

And here is the Michael Walker 2007 AKI open-bid folder
from an 8 page section about this incredible man.

David, you've got the volume cranked to ten. Rock on!

Good news, David. As we chatted about at Blade, when it happens, we'll have to review it in American Handgunner for sure! I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say I can hardly wait ...

Hello Roy, and WELCOME!

Well, I suspect that my books had a little something to do
with us seeing you on a custom knife related Forum.... :)

This is just great!

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

I could not resist it so here is something completely different,
way out in boldness and drama.
At least one of the most visually dramatic pages I have created...

A page with six fixed blades by Mick Strider that are a small part
of the display of highlights from the Mike Talanian collection...

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

Awesome pictures David. It appears, with that many knives, this may be your most visually stunning book yet. Can't wait to get a copy at Blade 2010.

I guess I need to give up collecting knives and start collecting books!

Thanks for your posts David!

David, you win the prize for the best collection of knife pictures! :D

You are truely dedicated to bringing knives out of safes and into the public eye so well. Thanks so much for your work. We are all enjoying the benefits that you have given us.

I'm really looking forward to this one.

That Fisk section by Kevin Jones is real nicely put together, David. I congratulate all 4 of you(including Paul Long).

Best Regards,

That's a nice organization. Looks clean and appealing, offering a taste of what's to come in the following pages. Nicely done.
