Hello everyone,
The basic page by page plan for my next book "The World of ART KNIVES" is
complete, from page 1 to page 272!
I still have a great amount of work before me even though
most of the book has been completed. There are quite
a few knives yet to be finished and photographed and their
final illustrations created. There is also quite a lot of writing,
editing and polishing up to be done....
The book is planned to go to print in December 2009 and will be
introduced at next year's BLADE 2010 Show...
The book will display about 500 amazing custom knives,
with detailed captions including personal comments from many
of the makers.
There will be over 60 pages of introduction sections among which
will be in-depth fully illustrated profiles of several world-class
custom knifemakers and much more.
The second part of the book will be a printed exhibition of highlights
from 10 truly out-of-this-world collections.
As teasers here are two pages from the book.
All the best,
David Darom (ddd)
First here are two Wolfgang Loerchners (my vocabulary is too
limited to describe them properly) from the wondrous Don Guild collection.
From my book "The World of ART KNIVES" (2010)
And here is the Michael Walker 2007 AKI open-bid folder
from an 8 page section about this incredible man.
