BEHIND THE SCENES of "Knife Art"

I am already excited about this one. It may end up being my favorite.

Here is a sample of an 8 page section in the introductions.

What a surprise David. Thanks :)
Was really great working with David and Jerry on this segment of the new book. I appreciate the opportunity. Not often one gets a chance to work with two of the VERY best at what they do.

Looks like another incredible book I will have to purchase David. VARIETY is good in my opinion too!

Your books are my utmost favorites. Expecially the ones with the most diverse selection of knives and knifemakers.

Hello everyone,

It has recently become evident to me that the name "Knife Art"
for my next book may be an infringement of the US trademark
of a registered Internet knife dealer.

This was first pointed out to me by Tom Mayo (THANKS Tom!!)
and just in time too!.

To avoid unnecessary conflicts, I decided to change the
name of my book....

I am now looking at three different options and shall choose
one of them for its sound and visual appeal with the chosen
font for when used on the cover.....

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

Well the decision has been made.
The new title of my next book will be:

The World of
Art Knives

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the pool of ideas
from which this new name emerged....

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

That sounds like a good and appropriate title David. I hope to purchase one and have it signed at Blade 2010.

Here are four magnificent knives by Roger Bergh of Sweden.
All four of them from the Michael Talanian collection......

Those are some great examples of Roger's talent. Finally Michael's "black hole";) collection will be shown to the rest of the world.:thumbup:

the Bergh knives seem so impractical! while labor intensive no doubt there is so much of the blade carved away that it appears they would snap of it just bumped. I dont get this type of art used on a "knife".

Luckily for Roger quite a few people get his art. I happen to own a couple of Roger's knives and believe you me...some of them may look "different" but they are knives in every aspect (perfect forged steel, heat treatment, edge (geometry) and so on).

What is your point, exactly, Patrick?

Just kidding ! It is not that easy to find a title that nobody used ! That's why I showed some of my books : they all have similar titles... (note the "world of custom knives" that sounds pretty like "world of art knives").

Ok, thanks for the clarification.

You just cannot imagine how difficult it was to change the
original "Knife Art" name because a dealer on the Internet
has a very similar registered .com name...

One thing I do notice in your stack of custom knife books is the
very obvious fact that you are missing three major recent
publications... How come?
At least for one of them I am quite sure that its first high quality
printing is not available any more....

All the best,

Hi David,
don't worry about that. Some other books, including one more of you, are not on the photo...
