Behind the scenes work being done to subscriptions

Ok, apparrently you have to manually change your group id over when you have a subscription - you do this by going to the User CP and selecting which group you want to identify yourself as. This isn't an optimal thing, so I'm trying to find out what's going on.
 
I signed up for a gold membership today. My perks are active, but I'm still listed as registered.
 
OK... I have been gold and have always renewed and now for some reason my gold membership is gone and I'm being told I need to confirm my e-mail address since I never did... WTF?
 
WTFOver, can you confirm you email account?
Did you follow the instructions in post # 23 above?
Can you get into Pirate's Cove?

Strange... Could you be mistaken? I have a reminder set in in my Outlook Calender and remember taking care of this and also placing an order at the onestop...

BTW... I did request three times now the e-mail to confirm my email and the forum software has not sent me the email. Not one has been received in my yahoo account. I cleared my SPAM and inbox before making the first request and still several hours later not a single confirmation email has come through. Is the software backed up?
 
It is the same yahoo.com email address I have used here since... forever...

As to the renewal I have a reminder that runs starting October 1st of each year to remind me daily that I need to renew prior to October 12th each year. I am fairly sure that I did renew last October.
 
WTF, you can contact your credit card company and get them to tell you if you had a charge from 1SKS last October. If like me you keep all your old statements, you can check that way as well.
 
I'll see if the email situation is related to the outage we had earlier, but your subscription was from 10-13-04 through 10-13-06
 
I think that this might be related to a bigger issue. Going through my records I see that I ordered the renewal and a couple of the ProTech 108 - Black Ti, Red Handle Runts. I was told later that the runts would ship in January and asked if I still wanted them. I said yes but they were never shipped nor billed and the renewal must not have been processed since it was on the same order.

Once the e-mail situation is fixed I'll redo my renewal again.
 
I'm a gold user that is coming up as a registered user. In my CP it says that my subscription does not expire until 2008.
 
Registered Users who have an active subscription are easy to spot - if one clicks on their usernames, there's an option to send a Private Message.

thencrow doesn't seem to have that option.
