I used to collect balisongs, specifically 1980s Japanese imports from Parker, Taylor, Valor, etc. Over 50 have passed through my collection over the years. Then, after selling off my third balisong collection a grail was offered for sale on the forums, the one balisong I prized above all others, even the coveted Parker Imai and Compass Industries Cho No Shi . . . the Valor FIJI.

This balisong has thin BRASS handles, less than half the weight of the knuckle breaking Taylor Manila Folder, drilled in the distinctive Benchmade pattern. It also has a Bowie blade forged from Seki City 440C. This, my friends, is the finest balisong 1980s Japan had to offer.

I paid over $120 for this a few months back . . . but even though I love it, I'm really not collecting or carrying balisongs anymore, and it just sits on my desk like a badassed letter opener. I really prefer Spydercos and Microtechs now.

Knife is in excellent vintage condition. The usual light patina on the brass handles. Latch closes tightly in the open and closed positions. No wobble at all. I don't think this knife was ever even broken in, let alone flipped regularly. Original factory edge is still sharp. Usual handling marks from light carry by prior owner. Polish the brass and touch up the edge and it will be like new again. No box or sheath.

I need to get WITHDRAWN, shipped, for this beauty. PayPal preferred. Price is well under actual value and lowball offers will be ignored. CONUS only. Not particularly interested in trades unless you have a Superhawk (cash on my end). First unconditional "I'll take it" in this thread followed by prompt payment gets it. Thanks.

Seriously? No-one wants to pay $75 for this vintage FIJI? That does include fees and Priority postage, y'know. Marks on the tang were oil residue. Will consider other Spyderco hawkbills in trade.

I'll take it if you show me how to use it ;)

That is one of the big reasons why I sold my balisong collection. I love these knives, but can't flip them very well at all. I just wind up snapping the handle back and forth while spinning it around like I know what I'm doing. The average bystander can't tell the difference though. :) If you want it I can ship tomorrow.

Spent an evening polishing the patina off the handles, oiling the pivots, and breaking it in. Will be having the factory edge touched up later. Price increased to $150. But let's just call this "temporarily withdrawn." Feel free to message me if you have a Superhawk or a fair cash offer. Y'all missed out on a sweeeeet deal here. ;)
