Greetings, denizens of the Wilderness Forum. I lurk about the makers and custom forum quite a bit, but Mr. Jones suggested that I drop in here and introduce myself. I am a hamfisted hack of a new metal pounder/knifemaker....glad to meet ya:D

Aw, crap, Joe. When I saw your blades I drooled. Not hack at all it's really nice stuff.

Who the hell is Mr. Jones, anyway? I'm just plain ol' Brian.

LOL.....bad photos can hide almost as many minor cosmetic flaws as professionally shot photos, Brian:D I guess hanging around the makers forum with guys like Mssr. Fisk, Andrews, etc and the custom forum with a bunch of guys who consider anything under $1000 to be "value priced" can make you a bit anxious....;)

Yeah I can understand being intimidated in that company - but wow! Great people to learn from eh?

I'm partial to Bowie knives, anyway.

Joe,

I just looked at your site. It looks like you make nice knives, and offer them at a good value.

Mike,

Digressing, if I didn't tell you before, I spent some time the other day on your site and flickr site. You have outstanding technical and aesthetic talent as a photographer! I'd love to see knife pix from you. To keep this relevant to Joe's intro, maybe he'll have you shoot some of his blades!

Thank for the compliments. I am playing a little bit of catch up now with a couple of big ugly bowies after a small local show I did a couple of weeks ago. I will give you guys a heads up when I am pimping something burly enough for ya in the maker's for sale section:D

Sounds good, Joe! If you ever wanna loan one to me to review in real-world conditions and post here on the forum, I'd be glad to do it. I'm warning ya tho, I'll hafta buy it if I like it! :D

Thank you. I appreciate it.

Cliff Stamp has offered to hire me to photograph knives for him. I haven't yet accepted his offer. I am sure I could perform competently, but it's not my specialty. If Joe ever wants me to, I will consider it.

However, if I may make a recommendation:

If I needed to get some knives photographed to show them at their best, I would hire Ted Wilson, a.k.a. tedwca, a moderator on these forums.

He's a professional photographer with greater specialty than I could offer in commercial photography, product photography, studio lighting, etc. He's a remarkable photographer, and the best knife photographer in the business, to the best of my knowledge.

I am also privileged to know him personally, and to be able to call him a friend. He's a great guy, and someone I would trust for doing business with.

P.S. By the way, Joe,

I'll be in your area, later this week, photographing the gators, crocs, birdies, and swamps.
