Has anyone used one of these and could I please get some input? Is this a niche tool or can it do a lot of tasks (varied grinds)? Thanks in advance for your responses!

I have one. But unfortunately, I'm in a period of no time for my hobby, nor access to my garage/workshop, and so, I couldn't try it yet.
All I can say for now is : dealing with Daryl is smooth, friendly and efficient.
From what I see with the guide in hands, the angle must be given by the tool rest when flat grinding,
and it will be just fine for hollow grinds.
The guide is well made, and the slide is accurate.
I think for that price it worths a try.
I'll do my best to shoot some photos and/or a video in use, as soon as I can.
