Quick question, I am trying to make an axe, so I can then help one of my students who wants to make one, do you fold around an eye form and forge weld the body back to the form, or do you broach a bar for the eye and notch it for the insert?

On this one I started with 1 inch square and and cut a 1 inch slit in the middle. Then drove a drift in till I got the size I wanted

That's a great looking belt axe, I realy like the hammer head on the end, would work great for camping.
