Romancing the thread here, but, there are tools that many people "may" have but unless they work in a specialized field most people aren't aware of them and wouldn't be expected to have them.
My step-son is a lock smith and has asked for tools to fill-out a personal tool kit that are readily available on Amazon for anyone to purchase but only a locksmith would know they have a "security" function to them.
It would all depend on the law enforcement officer but you would definitely pique his interest in why you had a key if he didn't expect you to have one. Officers, security officers/guards, bail enforcement officers - yea, ok... otherwise, huh? I wouldn't think it would lead to you getting hurt, just investigated more thoroughly, deeply. And yes, that personal search is going to be a lot more personal.
