Belt Clip Screws ??

Lost a screw from my Spyderco Military that holds the clip on. Will other manufactures clip screws ( ex. Benchmade ) work, too?

The screws on my military clip loosen every week or so. I am concerned about tighting them too tight and stripping the threads. Do you suggest Lock Tite or other?
Thank you
Jim

What? Another knife? Don't you have enough of those things already?
How many does one person need?

Danelle recommended Loc Tite to me when I called her. The screw I lost was from my Military, but, I have had it for a loooonngg time now, one of the very first ones that were released. First time I lost the screw and only the second time it became loose.
When I get the replacement screw in the mail from her, I will tork it down real tight.

Don't know if I will use Loc Tite or not, I'll see!

I hvae used Loc-Tite on various clip screws over the years. It works wonders, but be careful not to get any into the knife's workings. I did on my Pro Venator and Spyderco had to repair it. I got a nice note from them when they returned my knife telling me that putting adhesives into a knife's works is not a good idea!

Also, in general, when tightening clip screws, make certain that they tap into a metal liner. If not, be very careful not to over-tighten them and strip threads. This can happen easily in plastics, no matter how sophisticated. Now, the Military and the StarMate tap into the steel liner, so there should not be a problem, but I am still using care.
