Belt Grinder sharpening technique questions

Glad I could help. :) FYI those micron belts from Lee Valley are GREAT! Expensive, but the 9 micron will put an absolute mirror polish on your edges. I used mine to sharpen a CAS Iberia katana for a friend a few weeks ago and it came out great. He's been raving about it. Unfortunately I don't have anything new to show from the shop though. That's a story for another post, in fact I think it will get it's own thread. As Uncle Bill says, stay tuned.

That's where I picked mine up too. I'm lucky I have a Lee Valley store near by.
I didn't get the 9 mc though. I already had a 15mc. I finish with the leather and 0.5 mc compound.
Maybe a bit excessive for a chopper but you can't beat the results.
