My belt grinder project is slowly rolling along and I'm very happy with the design. Wheels are in the mail somewhere and I'm looking for sanding belts. I can't find anything locally and was wondering where you guys get your sanding belts ? Also what grits would you recommend ?

Take a look at the stickies, they have a bunch of knife making suppliers listed there.
Truegrit, combat abrasives, pops, Supergrit, I'm sure there are more.

As far as grits go, lots of folks rough grind with 36 and work up from there. Each grit roughly double the one before it.

Thank you, A wealth of information there. I don't know why I didn't look there first. Must of been looking for a shortcut. One place my wife found for me was "Sandpaper.ca" that might be a deal for Americans with the Canadian dollar at around 70 Cent US 😢 $5.00 Canadian for a 2x72 Thanks again.
