Belt Knife that converts to a Draw Knife and Tracker's Forge Bushcrafter

Hey guys,
Been getting to know a local knife-maker, and he recently showed me an idea he had, to turn a belt knife into a draw knife, pretty cool.

Are you talking about driving the point of the knife into a small piece of wood, which becomes the other handle of the draw knife?

Edited to add: Must need stronger glasses - missed the mod on the first view! :(

That Bushcrafter is some wicked lookin stuff with an nice colored patina. A Cricken nice looking piece.

I need one.

SpookyPistolero "That's a handsome blade. I'd bring the edge all the way back to the handle for sure though." I hear that, it is also a tad long for a true bushcrafter, but since it is custom, he can build it anyway one wants it.

Marcelo Cantu "I like the frontier look that they all have." Yeah, he does that look pretty well. If you clicked through to his website, you will see he makes a bunch of frontier period knives, pre 1840 they call it, in the past, he has made those, predominantly.

oldpinecricker "That Bushcrafter is some wicked lookin stuff with an nice colored patina. A Cricken nice looking piece. I need one." You goof, that one is yours.....

That accessory Draw Knife Handle is a pretty cool idea.

Cool knife, it looks like he used a "nail/hanging" hole to attach it. I really like the looks of those knives.

That is a very cool idea...I really like it. It has old timey written all over it, and the additional handle draw knife is to much, very cool. Have you been able to handle any of the knives on the blog? Gene

orrey45 "Cool knife, it looks like he used a "nail/hanging" hole to attach it." That is exactly what he did.

gunknifenut "Have you been able to handle any of the knives on the blog?" I have held them, a couple times, and they feel good.

The Golock came about because he told oldpinecricker and I that he had a 'trail knife' that he kept in his 4 wheeler box, so we asked to see it. And as soon as we saw it, I was impressed. It really is a great idea, if you like large knives. So, with that bit of inspiration, he decided to make a set of them. And this is what he came up with. The Golock is pretty heavy, so it will chop like crazy, and almost convex in the main grind, so it will be pretty tough, and 5160, you can't beat that for a large knife. I really like the Camp Knife, the middle sized one. I don't have a huge need for a draw knife, but the knife by itself is really nice. And I think the draw knife idea is brilliant, really creative. I would prefer something a little pointier for the neck knife, but the neck knife he built is very utilitarian, and the point is more acute than I thought it would be. And the leather handles are really smart, it is a great way to get a knife at bargain price, without suffering function.
