How do you guys think this belt progression is for a satin finish like this?

60 grit Blaze for profiling and rough beveling

120 grit Blaze for cleaning up the grind

That's the finish I use on my knives, not sure the process that Iz uses. Experiment a little and see what you like the best. You may be surprised. A 'satin' finish means different things to different makers.

Throw a 220 in the mix in my opinion. It may clean up that splash into your flats and help with the overall sharpness of the top bevel as well as the grind lines. Looks like a great grind. Handle looks superb, I would back it away from the plunge a bit and bevel the leading edge, however.

If I had to guess I'd say that is a 400 grit then fine scotchbrite belt finish. It really depends on the lighting though!

I like to go up to 600 then back down to 400 or a very fine worn scotchbrite belt. There are many ways to do it.

Here is what Iz said:

For the blade I start with a 36grit, go to 12, heat treat, back to 120, got to about a 400 grit scotchbrite type belt (can't remember what they're called) and then up to about a 600 grit equivalent.

Same thing for the handle but I stop at 400 grit unless it's a real "scratchy" material like black paper micarta. Then I have to go up to at least 600 grit.
