I've been looking for a new belt, any reccomendations on makers/brands?

Check out 5.11 's TDU belts. I'm waiting for my store to get the black ones in. They are heavy nylon webbing with a heavy-duty, non-magnetic polymer buckle. Mebbe google 5.11 tactical to check it out.

I think there was recent belt thread here if you scroll back a little... I personally wear a Lifetime Belt by Duluth Trading..

The boys at JRE Industries make a killer two-layer leather belt that's suitable for everyday dress AND outdoor trips. I've had one for a lo-ong time and it's looking nice and worn.

+1 on the Wilderness Instructor's belt. I'm finally retiring mine, not because it's worn out after 10 years, but because I finally lost that 25 pounds I needed to. Next one is gonna be OD, I think...

I love my Rafter S. I have one that is 3 years old that is worn almost everyday and it is showing no signs of wear.

I'm torn between synthetic or leather...

I'm leaning towards this monstrosity;

Rafter S is my main field belt. They make great heavy belts which can be used for support a fairly heavy handgun. They look good too!

Spec-Ops Better BDU Belt. Totally non-metallic, easy to adjust for a perfect fit. Will still look good after the leather ones have rotted.

Made entirely in the United States of America, I'm proud to say.

I really like my Milt Sparks gun belt. Extremely sturdy and they cut them on a curve to ease the break-in period.

I'm usually packing a pistol or plently of crap on my belt. I wear an HSGI rigger's belt for work but off duty, it's usually my Ti Wilderness rigger's belt. Another "dressier" option are Liger belts...a good gun belt that doesn't scream "tactical". I like leather too, but most often wear my Wilderness as it dries out faster.

I've worn the same OD belt I got at the PX at Ft. Benning in 1979. It was the first nylon belt with the parachute type cinch on it I ever saw. I've got a black one for a replacement if I ever need it. BTW I've received 3- 5.11 belts and IMO they are crap as far as an everyday belt. The buckle doesn't stay cinched down tight enough for me. I'll stick with what works for me.

Why not get a leather belt blank from Tandy Leather and style it the way you want.
