I'd second that. I was in a leather store the other day and they had a large selection of tooled and un-tooled belt blanks. If you like buckles, get one that has snaps so you can choose your own style.
When I hunt I carry most extra stuff on a second belt. It's nice to get the weight off from time to time. The second belt is a WIP. I've changed the style and configuration many times.
