Belt selection; 1" X 42" ??? UPDATE: Bummed

I've met Bob. His last name is Dozier.
My middle name is Dozier. We both grew up in Louisiana, hves a few friends in common,
And a similar sense of humor. I'm younger and better looking. He knows more about metal then
I'll ever forget.

The origiginal seems flimsy, crooked, and keeps moving. Will work on it if need be,
I'm not a machinist though.

Thanks for the reply,
The lesser known Dozier

Haha good stuff. :)

Sucks about the platen though. Definitely NOT qualities you want in a platen. It's gotta be better than the one on my little HF jobbie though.

Have a question for you guys.
Is there a better, aftermarket ?, platen available for the Kalamazoo 1x42 that ya'll know about?
A platen is kind of simple. Just a metal plate on most grinders that cover the area behind the belt and give you good support when pressure is applied to the belt. I opted for making a adjustable one as I wanted to use my x weight belts and not have much of a convex edge. I like to sharpen in the area between the added platen.
