Ok i'm building a ginder. After searching and lots of reading. Plus trying to keep my order simple. This is what I came up with. Just for informational purposes O1 is my metal of choice

Going through Pop's for the belts
these are the ones I'm planning on going with

3M 2x72 Ceramic 963G (60 grit)
Klingspor 2x72 CS 411 x ( 120 grit)
Klingspor 2x72 CS 330 x weight Cork (400 grit)

These are debatables. Would like some input here. Like good , no good. Grits if I get.

3M 2x72 372L Micron
3M 2x72 Trizact CF (maybe A65/ 280 grit)
3M 2x72 307EA Trizact
Hermes RB 406 2x72 Belts

I tried to stay away from the AO belts as it's my understanding they aren't as good or long lasting. I may pick some of the economy ones up for handle working. Dont want to gum up my nice belts

Anyways any help here would be great thanks

Just get 1 cork belt, they last forever and you loa them with rouge.Get some 400 grit gators or 400 git Klingspor fo finishing grit.
I usually go 80,120,400,400 cork then hand sand.

Thats Kinda the way I was thinking a 3-5 step before hand sanding.

Anyone got any comments on Norton over 3M in the Ceramics? I've put together a list for either Pops or Tru-Grit and the Norton belt is kinda the deciding factor on where I go. I've heard good things bout the Norton and not much about 3M

Anyone know how reasonable Tru-Grit is on shipping. They dont add it till the order goes out and I don't really like that. So I have an order for X amount of money an could go up more than I'm comfortable with

Anyway the main subject here is the belts

I use the Norton Belts, didn't care for the 3m's,and the Orange blaze belts are the best.

Get yourself some:

3m 977 cubitron in 50 grit and 120 grit.

then use the 3m gator or cf belts in a45 and a30. you'll be rockin!! least thats how i do it :)
