I got these nice belts from Ranger Original. (Highly recomended by the way, great service).

Ok so these are the nicest belts I bought to date, not the high end stuff but much nicer than the cheapest I could find stuff I bought before. Anyway it forced me to look at my belt storage and since it was basically just throw them away somewhere it obviously needed some improvement. Sadly the shop is just packed. So the only way to go was up. Worked out pretty good.

Thanks for looking.

Good idea!
I put mine on dowel rods hanging from the wall, but this looks like a much better use of space.

Great idea Padrig, excellent use of space. Lately I've been pondering a belt storage solution to clean up all my belts that are hanging from everything in the shop. Your solution won't work very well for me though, the ceiling in my shop is 12 feet high.

Yes simple to make. A few scraps of aluminum for the brackets and 4" PVC piping.

Brad, I am guessing that with 12' high ceilings you must have a large shop you lucky you.

Outstanding idea and excellent use of space!!!

PERFECT !! Thanks for passing that on Pad. I hate them hanging on the wall and have been trying to figure something else out and shazam there it is.

Pad, my shop is 24x24 which is fairly large but once you start getting some machinery in there it seems awful small in a hurry. I originally built the shop with 12 foot ceilings to accommodate an automotive hoist, but once I started making knives I found I didnt have room for a hoist. I think what I really need to do is spend some time and rethink the organization in my shop, I probably have alot more wasted room than I realize.

Good idea, except, if they are close to your grinder they are liable to get covered in dust. you bump them and get a dust shower.

Thanks guys, I am glad I could contribute a little after all the help I got here.

Brad, I understand about filling the space you have. I guess it's like woman's purses. No matter how big they are, they are always a mess. ;)

Tom, I dunno, my grinder tends to throw dust down into the slump bucket of doom.

I'm definately going to take a look at something like this for my belts.
