Hello all,
I have been modifying knives for friends for some time and have been messing around making them a little here and there. I recently came into a used burr king grinder and am serious about getting a shop set up. So here are some newb questions for you all.
1. Could you suggest a decent 2 x 72 belt set up that will accomplish a majority of my grinding needs? Please give me some pros and cons of different belts as I don't know anything about them.
2. What is the technique that a majority of you use for your primary bevels? Do you free hand or use some type of jig or level? I have been free handing all of my work and am getting decent results in general but I really want to zero in and make my primary grinds perfect and even. Any technique suggestions?
3. Any custom makers in the Tucson area willing to take me under their wing and help corrospond with me to give me pointers?
