Just placed an order for a kmg. Going to be a big step up from a HF 4x36. What are good 2x72 belt grits to get and where is the best pricing?

I use VSMs from TruGrit in 36 for profiling, and 60 and 120 for bevel grinding. After that, I go A100 to A45 Trizact. If I don't need a crisp bevel top line I use a blue scotchbrite for a nice smooth finish.

I order most belt from Pop's knife supply in Georgia. I only use belts in 60, 80, 220, 400, 600, 800 and 1000 grit in that order for mirror polish and finish with a well worn cork belt loaded with compound. Scotchbrite is a nice satin finish as mentioned above.

Thanks guys. I did read the difference between belts and that some are better suited for more pressure and some better with less. Guess I'll find out my grinding style after the kmg arrives.

TRU-Grit and POPs are where I go can't beat the VSM's from Tru Grit for the price..
