Belts with overlapjoints

All the abrasive belts that I get from dealers here in the Philippines has overlapjoints. Usually the belts breaks easily. Is there a beter way to remedy this? or if I reattach the belt what type of adhesive works best

You can't re-joint a belt. The glues used are a special type. They are kept stored on dry ice until use. Proper belts should not come apart. The main causes of joint failure are:
too much belt tension
low quality belts
high moisture/ heat conditions
High speed use
