I'm selling my Ebony Fighter by Ben Breda, one of my favorite American makers. He's a super nice guy too...I bought this knife in 2018, & it had some marks on the blade from handling. Ben held onto it for a while after making it, then he sold it thru Windy City Knives, where I found it. I reached out to Ben after buying the knife, & he asked that I send the knife to him in Maine for a "tune up"...& I think he was getting ready for Blade Show at that time....he had it back to me in just a few weeks {refusing to let me pay him anything for the "tune up"} & looking great, & that's the state she's in now, minus (2) years of sitting in a fuzzy zipper pouch - I didn't even slide it into the sheath once after I got this back from Ben. That's why I'm selling the knife...I'm seeing this knife pop up from time to time, like on Caleb Royer's social media, & I'm not thinking to myself "Wow, that's my knife right there!"....I'm finding myself thinking "Wow, I'm an A-hole...when's the last time I even looked at this knife?"

It's time, I think, that a different A-hole own the Ebony Fighter. I'm letting her go for $890 THIS IS SOLD!! -- PayPal Fees & CONUS USPS Priority shipping included. My PayPal is scotts@reeve-knight.com
I remember the paper test when I got the knife, & ya, it's got a ridiculously sharp edge. You can tell by the shape of the handle, yes, this knife is so comfortable in hand. I've had several makers copy this handle shape for me since buying this knife. I'll list some specs below, along with pics:

  • Overall length: 13 3/8"
  • Blade length: 8"
  • Weight: 13.9 ounces (with the sheath)
  • Blade Steel: W2 diff. heat treated with clay, giving the blade it's ghostly hamon
  • Handle Mat: It's in the name....Ebony, & this is one of THE most comfortable handles I've ever experienced. Like...ever.
  • Sheath: Leather from a very handsome cow. No doubt an American cow...a patriot cow. Ben made the sheath himself as well, & it's of course perfect for this knife, in every way. I just held it for the first time in a while today, & it still feels like he just made it...kind of strange.
