First in line for the awesomeness! ;) :D

Great knife Ben. You're killin' that checkering, wood is really cool and you KNOW I love that 1075! Great work Buddy.

The photo is impressive, as always.

Haha! Yes you are, John!

Thanks!

Big bruiser! Love your hamons, and the checkering seems to get better every time. Really adds character to a knife.

Man I love those handles! The checkering but also those subtle organic contours--looks like it would feel great in hand.

Caleb, your photos just get better and better. The background choice makes that whole package pop without becoming cartoonish or overpowering the image.

Yep, this one is real stunner and feels great in the hand. Great job Ben. Caleb you did great with the image.

Love everything about it, but it isn't a camp knife.

It's a Bowie by definition.

Holy frijoles! Darn nice work on everything, including the photography that allows us to see it so well! Would love to feel this in hand, but I'd get the blade all rusty with drool :D

Awesome image, Caleb.
You make checkering look so nice, Ben.
Love the pines on a foggy lake hamon.

Steven, what would classify it a camp knife? To my mind, maybe a single lug guard? Or is there something else with the blade and/or handle shape?

Not intended to derail, and it doesn't really matter to me what one calls their knives.....I'm just curious. I would have called this a bowie probably, for what it's worth.

Thanks.

I'll jump in again to highlight the guard, maybe new from Ben. Very nice subtle curves (rather than sharp flares) and a nicely balanced "point", or whatever that's called. Elegant.

1. Most but not all camp knives have some variation of a drop point blade.....the clip point on a bowie is so ubiquitous that many clip pointed folder blades are called "bowie" blades. In this case this "camp knife" has not only a clip point, but a sharpened clip point.
2. What you said about the guard is a factor, once you have even a short double lugged guard, you are moving into bowie territory.
3. This part is just for my own definition, but the cant of the handle and lack of thong tube both demonstrate more of a fighting knife look than a utility knife.

Obviously, as makers you can call it whatever you want, but there are basic parameters. What separates a camp knife from a hunter? Size mostly....but there are no hard and fast rules, and I'm not trying to be the Knife Style Definition Police(K.S.P.D.).....I just see Bowie when I look at this knife, even if you use it when camping, lol.

Best Regards,
