SOLD. This Tendick "Ronin" Wakizashi was a custom order back in 2016, completed in Nov 16. There were some threads plus glam photos of this Waki posted here on Blade Forums back then but most or all of the photos were purged when the servers were switched, but I have located some on the Internet in addition to BRT's IG account which I will be also posting those in addition to my own actual pics posted below. What I am posting is the actual representation of this sword's contemporaneous condition, i.e, in PRISTINE / MINT condition.
I acquired this from its original owner in a trade a few months ago but I have decided to move this along to the BRT connoisseurs. This Tendick Ronin Wakizashi is unused and uncarried out in the field, either by me or its original collector owner. I prefer to sell thisbut I may consider trade proposals with cash in either direction for any CPK Sword or other older/vintage (pre 2018ish) CPK patterns. Trade Value: N/A
This listing is for the Ronin Wakizashi, the Saya and a BRT authenticity card signed by Ben Tendick, as pictured. No sword sack!
Asking price payment options:$2250 $2150 SOLD PayPal G&S
Specifications:
Blade Length ~ 16"
Cutting Edge ~ 15.5"
Overall Length ~ 23.25"
Blade Thickness ~ .25"
Blade Height ~ 1.375"
Handle Length ~ 7"
Grind: Flat w/ Fuller & partial Fuller on Spine
Finish: Hand Applied Satin Blade / Acid Wash Flats
Steel: 3V
Hardness ~ 60.5 RC
Weight: 1.13 lb w/o - 2.13 Sheathed
Features: epoxied black cord wrapped over white stingray handles, zirc menudki and zirc tsuba. Seppa is copper and the Saya is in carbon fiber over terotuff.
Important observations: no dings, dents, glaringly obvious physical flaws, nothing, zippo, nada! However, this is a hand made custom piece which means that a set of keen eagle-eyes may see the minutest of imperfections like maybe a sheath caused scuff! I don't see any of that after my inspection and close scrutiny but YMMV! My only gripe is with this type of Saya! Despite being a gorgeous and a unique kind of saya, it is quite heavy and only great for display. Also, it tends to tighten up around the guard specially if left alone in the drawer for a long time so the only way to dislodge the sword from the sheath is by a strong smack of the palm of the hand on the Kurikata knob! If you have weak hands or are too timid, this is not for you! Also to sheath it, must align the spine correctly against the sheath and then wiggle the sword like midway inside to sheath it all the way inside.
