Benchmade 162 Bushcrafter review. (picture heavy)

Great indepth review DeadboxHero!

For whatever it is worth I had same problem with my Saddle Mountain Skinner cutting into the welt on the sheath as well.

Benchmade makes a quality product however, the sheathes need some extra work.

Thanks for reading/watching

Have you considered having a custom sheath built for you?

For the record, I'm not taking orders, but that knife deserves a killer sheath. Not sure why benchmade went with that type of leather and a plastic liner. Veg tanned fitted well with nice wet molding would be a big improvement and would last for a very long time.

I have actually. Love your work too. I just like to put the money towards other knives or sharpening equipment.

Thanks bud. I really don't want to break any rules pertaining to in thread sales.

I have a large backlog due to my current injury, but feel free to contact me privately if you would like more information.

Ran into an acquaintance afew days ago.

He has the most used Benchmade 162 I've ever seen.

I asked him without weirding him out if I could share with ya guys.

He much abliged.

I love seeing well used blades.
It really shows the punishment these blades can take.

This thing has been his EDC since they first came out in 2013
He told me knives are tools to him and he's not afraid to abuse' em

Some of the cutting tasks he told me he was doing made me cringe. I don't baby my knives but feel I might be more judicious about there use.

I think it's rad when Run into folks that use expensive knives hard.

The blade was chip free and had a working sharp edge.

The G10 was polished shiny and smooth by human hands from use.

The sheath is still in one piece haha.

Awesome dude. I really appreciated him sharing his knife with me.

Thought ya guys would like to see the results of two years of EDC hard use.

Cheers.

For the time being, this one will have to do. I found somebody that specializes in Kydex, and has already molded one for the 162 so I thought I would try one.

This came with a Tek-Lok so I can carry in a variety of ways, including locking it onto my three day bag if needed.
It is currently affixed for Scout (horizontal) carry.

Anybody else think this is a very under rated knife, and this great thread needs a revival? ;)
