Benchmade 300SN Ball Axis Flipper?

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't find 154CM (Emerson) to be much different than S30V (Benchmade Kulgera) in everyday cutting tasks in the knives that I own. They seem to hold an edge for a comparable amount of time and are about the same to sharpen.

I dig the idea of a flipper axis, but the design is awful. Needs to be more thin and sleek, less stumpy and fat. Lose the thumbstud. It's an ugly feature that isn't needed on a flipper.

...and those handles. It's almost as if they were going for turd on purpose.

I'd like it better without the finger grooves. Other than that, I'd have to say the only raison d'etre seems to be the flipper, which is not terribly needed on an axis lock.

I don't like the finger grooves, I hate the 2-tone brown handles, and the flipper is really wide.

I don't know, it might just be me.

Can't wait to put my order in tomorrow morning. Since when did 154cm go out of favor? If it were made it Taiwan would everyone be happy?

It actually reminds me of the Kershaw Tremor. Not saying Benchmade ripped the design off. It just looks kind of like it. I don't care for that brown pattern either. But I would take it over black for sure.

HaHa. It actually reminds me of the Kershaw Laharlahar.jpg

I dont like most benchmades but I kind of like this blade. I probably wont ever get it but its cool.

The Southard flipper is where its at, cant wait to get my paws on one of em!

I like the design, and I like that it has the thumbstuds.
I'm liking the low-rider clip.
But I have to agree that it just looks like a brick. It's too thick.
The thick liners are nice, but do you really need super thick liners with an Axis Lock?
I like the color but I don't like how they did it. If they were going to do that they should have made it OD Green or something similar.
The Open-pillar construction is nice - I prefer this.
I'll also agree it doesn't need the finger-grooves.

However, I would give this Benchmade a go.

I, for one, like the idea of the insane Axis lock smoothness paired with a flipper. Should be a fun knife to play around with at least.

I don't know, it looks good and everything. I haven't tried the axis lock yet though, never had a chance to play with a benchmade and I'm just getting into spending $100 plus for a knife. I still cringe when I hit the buy button for a $60 one. Also at .59" thick...that is like a brick like someone else here said. Especially for a flipper in my opinion. I probably won't get this one for a while. I wanna see some reviews of it first and have time to maul it over. Plus I have a decent line up of knives to try before this one anyways.

I am in the middle. I REALLY like he idea of a flipper on one of my favorite locks. I HATE that @#%!@# brown color. I wonder how well it would take a blue dye.

Because it isn't bf.com's steel of the week....

Doesn't really speak to me for some reason. Not sure what it is. It's not the steel though. I like 154cm.

looks good to me, I'll wait to see if someone who sells this knife works out a sprint run in M390 or something.

Seems a little unremarkable to me. Not cheap enough to be a bargain knife, but not pricey enough for special materials. Would be sweet to see one in carbon fiber.

I was looking forward to a Benchmade flipper, but this thing is downright hideous. The handles are ugly and the knife is really stubby looking. I think they just picked the wrong guy to design the knife.

I really like the looks, but totally agree that's its too small. 3.5 would be much better. Oh, and yeah, the steel choice is real poor!
