Customers spoke up. Benchmade was all ears. The result? A manual opening version of the 5000 Mel Pardue designed Auto Axis Lock folder. Identical in every detail to the automatic except the coil spring, the 520 has dual thumbstuds for easy opening and the Axis Lock. The 520 is a beefy, heavy duty folder for extreme use. Aluminum handle with special machining traction pattern enhances grip.

More info and hopefully pics will be available upon my return from Blade.

The current Blade magazine has a pic of it 4 or 5 pages in. I will try to scan it later a post. It looks very very nice!

since the auto and the manual versions are identical will it be possible to convert the manual into an auto? I've seen it done on stuff like colt knives and i was wondering if it would be possible on the BM

This looks like a very well made folder. I like the overall look of this knife. Benchmade should do well with this one.

When can I get one? :D

I've been eyeing the auto verison ever since it came out. the axis lock is my favorite lock and this one looks great.
