So I was looking at my 531 and realized that the butterfly was not quite as dark and prominent as on other benchmades. Well in my search for the truth I realized that the grind of the knife is slightly different depending on which websites you look at. For example, the knife on KnifeCenter.com has a higher grind with none of the butterfly on the "unground" portion, where as on blade hq the grind and logo placement is the same as mine, and REI is somewhere in between the two. Does anyone know the story behind the inconsistency??

It might just be the lighting.

This is a picture of my 531 when I had it.

Well what I was referring to was the butterfly being higher past the grind line. Then some knives and not as far as others and I've also noticed that some of them have higher grinds than others. Do you think that's just an inconsistency in manufacturing of different batches of production or something?

Probably ground by a different person or the same person on a different day. It's not done by a machine.
